Spain, officially the Kingdom of Spain (Spanish: Reino de España), is a country in southwestern Europe. Besides most of the Iberian peninsula are also several enclaves in Africa to Spain and the Balearic and Canary Islands. The capital of Spain is Madrid, and Barcelona, Valencia and Sevilla belong to the larger cities in the country. Spain had over 46 million inhabitants, and as in most of Europe the country uses the euro as currency.

In the west, Spain borders to Portugal, and in the northeast to Andorra and France. In the south, Spain curiously borders to the United Kingdom. This is due to the fact that Gibraltar (the most southern tip of the Iberian peninsula) is still British territory. The country is very clear from different regions including the Autonomous Basque Country and Catalonia. In various parts of the country are also major differences seen in culture, language, diet and climate. Each summer holiday Spain offers shelter to countless sunbathers on the Costa's in the east and south of the country. If you like to go off the coast in the interior of the country you will find rest, and opportunities to make cultural excursions. In the Pyrenees, but also in the southern Sierra Nevada, there’s lots of opportunities to go skiing in winter.
