Sweden, officially the Kingdom of Sweden (Swedish: Konungariket Sverige) is a Scandinavian country in northern Europe. It is surrounded by Norway in the north and west, Finland in the northeast, the Gulf of Bothnia in the east, the Baltic Sea in the southeast and south and the Skagerrak and Kattegat in the southwest. In the Baltic are the islands of Oland and Gotland, which also territory of Sweden. The capital and largest city is Stockholm.

Sweden is one of the richest and most prosperous countries in the world. The country is a member of the European Union, but is not in the eurozone. In Sweden you pay by the Swedish krona. Besides the already mentioned Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö are amongst the larger cities in the country. University city Uppsala and the medieval Hanseatic City of Visby are also worth a visit. The old city view of Stockholm attracts too many tourists.

Sweden is known for its beautiful nature. The country is very large, producing large differences in landscape creation. In the far north the landscape is rugged, cold and very wooded, and in the south is the country more populated, and therefore more cultivated. In northern Sweden are natural phenomena as the midnight sun and northern lights visible. You will also find animals like the elk, bears and lynx.
