The Swiss Confederation, or Switzerland (in German Schweiz, French: la Suisse, Italian: Svizzera, Romansh: Svizra), is a country in the middle of Europe with Germany as neighbors in the north, France in the west, in southern Italy, Austria and Liechtenstein in the east.

The official languages in Switzerland are German, French, Italian and Romansh.

The country is also known under his Latin name Confoederatio Helvetica (CH).

There are various types of climates in Switzerland of a polar climate in the mountains to a Mediterranean climate in Ticino. In general, there is a transition from land climate to sea climate and the higher parts of the Alps the alpine climate.
